Opportunity students had the chance to release our classroom salmon into Mill Creek. Since October students have witnessed 3 stages of the salmon life cycle happen right in the classroom. The classroom tank allows students to observe Salmon in their early stages: eggs, Alevins and Fry.
During our release students learned the importance of location and stream habitat for the survival of the Fry. They also witnessed a bald eagle!
We would like to give a big thank you to Alex Lau of Tri-State Steelheaders. Alex not only provided a great learning experience during the release, but has provided endless classroom support and vital care for the fish/tank.
